Personal History:
Neither the 1901 Census nor the 1911 Census has a "E. Williamson" of qualifying age in the Buxton area. The fact that his Christian name is "Ernest" comes from the listing on the St John's Church, Buxton, Memorial, which also lists his rank as "Private" and that he died "In France". The 1911 Census has three entries of "Ernest Williamson" living in Derbyshire, plus 2 more with a second name, but none of the five near Buxton.

Military History:
There are no obvious records on the CWGC Database or on SDGW database. There are 3 casualties named "Ernest Williamson" on  the CWGC database, who have the Rank of Private, plus a further 6 who have just the initial 'E', and none on the SDGW database has any obvious connection to Buxton.

There are many Medal Index Cards bearing the name "Ernest Williamson". Without more information it is not possible to identify with which Regiment he served.
